Lets be realistic $1.7k a month for a high end studio is a rip off you can get a very good one bedroom apartment a little down the road for $700-$850 some of them with utilities included.

This college is in an urban area…you can’t get a place that cheap in the city. But I do agree with you that I’d much rather live with cool people in a shitty place. My school had a dorm that was $13k/year. The students got their own room, shared a bathroom with one person, and they had their own gym. But the people there were so snobby and I wouldn’t live there because of that.
$1700/month is for chumps – I rented an old house off campus in a little college town with two friends, there was no pool but there were woods and a creek nearby–150 bucks a month each, it was awesome. It’s who you’re with not where you are, and living with these spoiled kids would be a nightmare for me.
